February rain
the field dripping
with cotton |
ripples in the pond
my mother's face
in mine |
smoke from the cane field
stirring
my tea |
releasing its load of snow
spring
of a branch |
facial—
the ceiling's
cracked plaster |
ashes
missing her
vermillion powder |
