Samantha Klein has BA's in English Literature and Philosophy, and has been working at the public library in New Orleans, Louisiana, for seven years. She lived in Japan as a child for four years, ages 5-9, where she had two beautiful cherry blossom trees in her front yard and loved to eat yokan (the bean paste sweets). She is still attracted to all things Japanese.

marbles
in physical therapy--
a kid again
flowing on the current
of the Mississippi--
jazz
opened book
child kissing
the bear
her life
still in it
my grandmother's plant
sitting meditation
the cat's tail
feathers my back
the lines still there
even with
moisturizer
