Graduated engineer of chemistry, Boris Nazansky was born in Rijeka in 1953, lived in Varazdin, graduated from University of Zagreb, where he works. He is a writer and journalist, professionaly engaged in enigmatics, being the editor-in-chief of the puzzle magazine Kvizorama. He published the riddles in verse Stisici (Little Verses) Bjelovar 1980; is the co-author of Enigmatics of the Varazdin Region, Bjelovar 1981; the author of collection of puzzles and riddles for children And What is This?, Zagreb, 2001, co-author of a collection of anegdotes Great Men in Comic-strip Storiettes, Zagreb, 2003.

He writes haiku for more than twenty years and publishes it since 1993 in periodicals, magazines, yearly journals, miscellanies and anthologies in Croatia and abroad (Australia, France, Germany, Great Britain, Netherlands, India, Japan, Slovenia, Serbia and Montenegro, Russia, USA). He received more than twenty awards and commendments.

His haiku have been published in common bilingual (Croatian /English) haiku collection Seven Ways, Zagreb, 2000, and Seven New Ways, Zagreb, 2003. He is a member of The Association of Croatian Haiku Poets and the co-editor of billingual (Croatian/English) haiku magazine Haiku since Spring 2003, published twice a year in Zagreb. Also, he is the editor-in-chief of the Haiku Calendar 2004 published in Ludbreg.
