Tomislav Marijan Bilosnic (Zemunik, 1947.) is a contemporary Croatian writer, painter, photographer and journalist. He is the author of more than fifty books of prose, poetry, critiques, feuilletons and travels of which is even seven books of haiku poetry - "A Hand Stuck Into the Heart" (1979.), "The Stroke of the Sword" (1984.), "Iz" (1986.), "A Calendar of Dreams" (1995.), "Tea Utensils" (1995.), "The Mountain" (2002.) and "Velebit" (2004.).
Bilosnic is one of the first Croatian author who began to write haiku. Also, he edited more than twenty books of haiku poetry of the other writers. The rewieves about his haiku poetry wrote more than one hundred authors and his works has been translated at number of languages. His haiku is included in all Croatian athologies and surveys of haiku poetry, like "Anthologies of Croatian Haiku Poetry" (1996.) of Vladimir Devide, or "100 Croatian Haiku" (2000.) of Visnja McMaster. More, Bilosnic is represented with number of haiku in anthology of haiku poetry of Yugoslavia "Branch That Smells" (1991.) of Milijan Despotovic, and "Haiku in Dalmatia" (2001.) of Zlatko I. Juras. Haiku poetry of Tomislav Marijan Bilosnic is also included in anthology of haiku poetry of the world which edited Koko Kato.
About Bilosnic's haiku poetry, who lives and works in Zadar, a city that lies at the Adriatic coast, Japanese national television Efuban no ichi Inc. filmed a documentary "By the Paths of Croatian Haiku".
Tomislav Marijan Bilosnic is the member of the Society of the Croatian writers and its president of the Branch of Zadar, the member of the Society of the Croatian haiku poets and Croatian Society of journalist. He is the secretary of the Croatian-American humanitarian Children and Family Society, ex-president of the Lions Club Zadar, the president of the Society of 3000 Years of Zadar. He is the winner of the award of Coat of arms of the city of Zadar, award of Zadar county for his art and social actions, as he is the winner of many other awards. Now he is the editor-in-chief of the weekly newspapers Zadarski Regional.
